Our Story
We didn’t start this as a business. We started it as desperate pet parents.
It began with Chester and Sunny, our two orange cats, and Cookie, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Each one brought joy into our lives — but also behaviours we didn’t know how to handle. Pacing. Excessive meowing. Barking the moment we left the house. At first, we thought it was just “bad behaviour.” But behind those actions, there was something deeper: anxiety, boredom, stress — and a cry for help we didn’t yet know how to hear.
We were heartbroken. And we were exhausted.
Like many pet parents, we tried the usual fixes: new toys, more walks, more treats. But nothing stuck. It wasn’t until we discovered the power of behaviour-based enrichment — tools designed to meet emotional needs, not just distract — that everything started to change.
We watched Cookie settle into peaceful naps. Chester stopped destroying furniture. Sunny stopped meowing through the night. Our home, once filled with chaos, became calm again.
And that’s when Equilibrium Pet was born.
